A2Arts is pleased to announce the opening of Travelling Light, a solo exhibition of abstract landscapes by Hertfordshire based artist Alex McIntyre.
Travelling Light is the second in a series of solo exhibitions by Alex hosted in different locations in the UK. Travelling Light will showcase a new body of paintings exploring light, land, sky and weather.
The artist gathers source inspiration through journeys on foot, either walking or running, at different times of day and in various locations in the UK. On site, she produces drawings and takes fast photographs which act as memory aides once she is back in the studio. The paintings themselves are not specific places. They communicate the sense of an experience and evolve through a type of intuitive conversation between the artist and the painting. Alex wants to leave space in a painting for a viewer to bring their own history.
