In recent years, and following a career of over two decades working in education, I have started to explore new creative pathways. With a life-long passion for wildlife, especially birds, the natural world continues to inspire me and has become the focus for my current work.
My exhibits include photographs of wildlife and the wider natural world. In my photographic work, I like to experiment, increasingly, with different creative techniques and lighting conditions. A key feature of this experimentation, is the use of a slow shutter speed and/or intentional camera movement (ICM) to produce abstract results. This painterly method enables me to create lasting, visual impressions of an experience or place. More widely, my wildlife photographs have started to be selected for shortlists, in three major competitions, one of which is still current.
