LUCY SCOTT

Lucy nurtures a connection with nature through her work. She uses materials and pigments gathered from her surrounding landscape which maintains an intimate conversation with her environment. Her method allows her unique gestural language to express itself in the moment. When creating, the conversation between her hands, her tool and the medium she is working in guides her. Lucy honours the tender, the subtle, and the overlooked in her work. Her style has a strong voice and triggers powerful emotions!

Born in Suffolk. Lucy has spent half her life in England and half in Australia, where she worked running art studios in remote desert communities. She returned to Suffolk in 2018 to study for a master's in illustration and book arts. Her practice is multidisciplinary with roots in abstract expressionism and an aesthetic influenced by minimalism which encourages space for the quiet and tender. She has a studio based in Lavenham and can often be found exploring the surrounding countryside.
